So We’re Six Months into the Year…
It’s July tomorrow, July. Can you believe that? This year is flying by and I feel like before we know it, it’s going to be Christmas. I know, I’ve said the C word in Summer, but the past six months have flown by and I can’t quite fathom it. With all that being said though, I’m really looking forward to July. It’s a month closer to our wedding, the month of my hen party and Will’s birthday so we have lots to look forward too.
I love busy months and having things to get excited for. All the preparations for our wedding and honeymoon are complete now so there’s nothing left to do and it’s all been really stress-free, to be honest. I can’t wait for the day to finally be here but at the same time, I’m loving the build-up to it. That period where you’re counting down and getting really excited as the day gets closer. I know I’ll miss that feeling of excitement so I want to make the most of it. It feels surreal that we’re six months through the year and the day is finally almost upon us when at the beginning of the year it felt so far away.
Hen party preparations are also complete bar a few little standard hen party purchases that need to be made. I’m also debating getting a new outfit, however, I do already have a contender in my wardrobe so it seems a bit silly to buy something else just for the sake of it. On the other hand, it’s my hen do and there’s nothing quite like a new outfit to make you feel your best is there?
Will’s birthday is also coming up this month and unlike our wedding and my hen party, I haven’t finished preparing for it. I still have presents to buy and a card and wrapping paper to get. However I’m planning on getting most of it sorted this weekend so hopefully, by the time you’re reading this, I will have ordered almost everything I need. My birthday is the month after too so we’re planning on doing a joint celebration in the form of a night away, on top of our honeymoon which falls very close. It’s just yet another thing to look forward to and I am loving all of the excitement. I love having things to look forward to, who doesn’t? It’s having something to look to in the future that keeps me going and keeps me motivated. Especially when your future plans involve marrying your best friend and trips away.
As you’re reading this it has been 8 weeks and 3 days since I passed my driving test. It’s certainly been nerve-wracking at times but I’m definitely getting more confident with each day. I’m still not 100% used to being able to drive yet. If I think about going somewhere, my first thought isn’t “oh you could drive”, it’s still unreal to me I think. But I’m starting to branch out more and I feel a lot better than I did when I first passed and felt really nervous about being out on my own.
I definitely feel more confident now, even if I do have the occasional wobble. I think that’s something a lot of people feel when they first pass, it doesn’t just come overnight. You don’t really start learning until you’re out on your own, driving new places and thinking on your feet with every new situation. At first, I felt this pressure to be driving everywhere all the time but I’ve realised that it’s not a race. Just because you can drive, it doesn’t mean you have to drive everywhere. Sometimes it’s nice to walk, especially with this heat we’ve been having lately. Getting into your car when it’s been sitting in the sun all day is not the one.
Blog-wise it’s been peaks and troughs. Some months I’ve felt super motivated and had loads of ideas, others I’ve been totally lacking and just haven’t blogged at all really. June was one of those months towards the start, as was May I suppose. It’s picked up a lot towards the end of this month though and I’m happy to be blogging regularly again.
Bullet journaling is something that definitely hasn’t slowed down at all. I recently migrated into my second bullet journal of the year and I am loving the feeling of a semi-fresh start. I’m loving bullet journaling full stop more than ever before and I think that shows from the content I’ve been posting lately. I’ve been pinning almost every day on Pinterest. From weekly spread ideas to collections and bujo supplies, you name it, if it’s bullet journal related I’ve been pinning it.
I started bullet journaling around 2 and a half years ago but have only really been doing it consistently for a year and a half and even more consistently so these past six months. Bullet journaling has really taken off, not just for me but in general and it’s not something I’m going to be stopping any time soon, if ever.
These past six months have been great but I have a feeling the next six are going to be even better…
